View of Writtle Church from behind the garden gate
I live 100 yards from All Saints Church in Writtle Essex. It is decorated with flint and chimes on the quarter hour. It was a baking hot day when I sketched it from behind my garden gate. The leafy plants including Hollihocks gave it a tropical look rather that of an english garden.
