I had business trip to Milan and London. During this trip, pocket-sized Cahier journal had been a perfect companion as a secretary, map, notebook and diary.

 

Long time ago, unfortunately, I had some experience of my iPhone pickpocketed in a bus and my handbag stolen in a restaurant.This is why I really liked to be careful with my possessions this time. My solution was that only one pencil and Cahier journal were permitted to be in my pocket, but no more. Another precious items had to stay in the deep bottom of my bag. 

 

It was very pleasure to walk on the street with my handwritten map. Flipping some pages after the map, there were also a full of space to note down new information got from the city and my real feelings at that site. In this way, one small Cahier journal automatically turn into my travel journal.

今回の旅のお供はポケットサイズのカイエジャーナル。海外ではこれまでに4回くらい置引きやスリに遭っているので、お財布も地図もiPhoneも、大切なものは全部カバンの奥底に仕舞い込んで、この小さなノートだけをコートのポケットに入れておいた。

手描きの地図で歩くのけっこう楽しい。地図や住所の後のページには、街歩きで仕入れた新しいメモや、感じたことも書き込んでいく。

 

日付が変われば、また手描きの地図と住所、その日の気持ち… こうして旅した通りに、記録が残っていく。
