When I was younger, we would make frequent visits to India as a family. I remember one visit I looked out the window of my uncle’s house, and saw an elephant approaching down the busy street. I went running to my dad jumping with joy at having seen the elephant. Straight away he took me and my brother outside, and we had a chance to ride on the elephant.

A few years later, I chose to make elephants the theme of an art project at school, and so my love for elephants continued. This art work was originally a black and white lino print, which has been scanned in to manipulate the colours and composition. Changing the colours has helped to reflect the bright and colourful culture of India, the home of the Indian elephant.
