Looked for ideas but did not see anything like I needed, so…

Punched a hole through the top corner, added eyelets on covers, hemp cord, beads.  Tada!

    You can purchase eyelets at just about any store that sells crafting supplies – Michael’s, Walmart, A.C. Moore, Hobby Lobby. The actual issue is having the appropriate tool to punch the hole and then set the eyelet.

    Also, practice a few times on something other than your journal. Setting eyelets is not hard at all, but it can take practice if you’ve never done it before.
