Dali is a beautiful city of the Yunnan region, China, and is very ancient as it was the capital of the old independent kingdom named Nan-Zhao.
I visited Dali just for one day, in the summer of 2005, during my trip to Lijiang, and I loved the sight of “San Ta Si” – the Three Pagodas, which could be considered as the symbol of Dali city itself.
At the same way, I loved the sight of thee Er-Hai – the Lake of the (shape of the) Ear, with fishermen fishing on traditional little boats.
This is what I tried to paint on the pages of the 1st Jap Moleskine of my Carnet de Voyage dedicated to Lijiang.
