Every moleskin artist who travels uses sketching to make their experiences more meaningful. Additionally, I often use my sketches to think about, and work out concepts for very large murals. This is one of several sketches made in the middle of an orchard in the Sacramento Valley, between the small towns of Davis and Winters, at the eastern edge of the Coast Range. The resulting mural is 20 feet high and 50 feet wide and was created in 2009.
