My grandfather had really lovely handwriting; the kind one would find in a letter written by an eighteenth or nineteenth-century English gentleman. He taught me how to write cursive, but writing long assignments in school and university put me off pen and paper for years.

My love for handwriting was rekindled when I found my grandfather’s diaries after he had passed away. Although my handwriting is nowhere as good as his, I think learning good cursive handwriting is an art worth pursuing for the rest of my life.
