Vinny the Pug

Like all climbers who’ve spent the greater part of a day ascending a mountain, upon reaching the top he performed his obligatory over-look of the terrain. On that particular day he arrived in at the closing moments. I captured this image of Vinny looking into the sun’s rays as it slowly descended behind a mountain some distance away.

Though at first blush it might appear to be a painting, this is in fact a photograph. It is one of thousands of pictures I had taken during my 13-year quest to photograph the entire life and times of “Vinny the Pug” of Phoenix.
