I’m not sure what prompted me to draw this one. As usual, I drew this piece in one of my many Moleskine notebooks in Starbucks before the pandemic hit. Starbucks was one of the places I frequented so often to just sit and draw and study that all the employees there knew my name and my favorite drink. I recall feeling anxious and confused and in need of just human interaction and affection when I drew this picture. All my art is colorful, but I like to keep the skin tone of the figures I draw the color of the paper, or colorless: I like how it emphasizes expression and the colorful surroundings.
