There can be so much information to convey when it comes to weddings, sometimes invitations aren’t just there to deliver the facts, they are part of telling the story of the couple who are marrying. Generally, weddings taking place in far off destinations or which involve multiple events would result an invitation suite that contains multiple cards. However, it can also be nice to include multiple cards for local weddings when going for a more formal wedding invitation style.

Sonia and her fiancé Maurizio got married in Melbourne and had all their events taking place locally, however they decided to add a few special touches to their formal wedding invitations by Paperlust with the inclusion of a hand drawn map. The map had an informative aspect in directing guests to the different locations, however, it also pointed out locations which were special to herself and her fiancé. We went for a very hand sketched look, none of the streets were drawn as straight lines, nor were any of the buildings and surroundings to scale. It was more about capturing the essence of each of the landmarks rather than any architectural detail.

When it came to the on the day stationery, we were inspired by quite stylistic fashion illustration style drawings in coming up with a Bridal Party card. Sonia didn’t want to reveal too much about each person’s outfit for the day, so we went for simple line sketches of the dresses and suits. But we did try and ensure accuracy when it came to hair, allowing for the wedding guests to identify each member of the party from the card.
